13-Year-Old Boy On Scooter Killed In Ocean County Crash: Cops

OCEAN COUNTY – A 13-year-old boy was killed in an Ocean County fatal crash on Tuesday night, police say.

The boy was struck by a vehicle at 6:45 p.m. while he was riding his scooter on Farmingdale Road in Jackson, police said.

The boy, who was with friends, turned into the path of a vehicle when he was struck, policee say.

Emergency personnel transported the boy, whose name was not disclosed, to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

An investigation is ongoing and no charges were filed as of press time.
