2-Alarm Fire Damages Bay Head Home

Video shows fire billowing from the attic of the two-story home on Johnson Avenue.

BAY HEAD, NJ — A two-alarm fire significantly damaged the second floor of a home in Bay Head on Sunday, forcing the closure of Route 35 while firefighters battled the blaze.

Fire companies from Mantoloking, Brick, Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Beach and Wall Township responded to help fight the fire on Johnson Avenue, which was reported shortly after 3:30 p.m.

There were no reports of injuries.

Video by Jersey Shore Fire Response showed smoke pouring out of the attic vent and flames at the attic in the back of the home as firefighters arrived and went to work, quickly knocking the fire down.

The Jersey Shore Fire Response report said firefighters were on the scene for almost two hours ensuring the fire was out.
