4 Face Drug Charges After Brick Street Crimes Unit Arrests

In a separate matter, a landlord has been charged with violating the Brick ordinance regarding irresponsible rentals, police said.

BRICK, NJ — The Brick Township Street Crimes Unit made four arrests recently, the police department announced.

In addition, a summons was issued to a landlord for violating the township's ordinance against irresponsible rentals, Sgt. Jim Kelly said.

On Oct. 26, a vehicle was pulled over just before 9:30 p.m. for several motor vehicle violations. Detectives found about 350 wax fold packets of heroin, 10 grams of crack, a "small quantity" of cocaine, and numerous prescription drugs. The driver, Toni Sisler, 33, of Camden, was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of crack with intent to distribute, possession of heroin, crack, cocaine, prescription legend drugs, suboxone, and drug paraphernalia. She was released on a summons, Kelly said.

On Nov. 3, detectives saw three people smoking crack in a vehicle while it was stopped at a red traffic signal, Kelly said. When detectives approached the vehicle, two of the occupants, Jeffrey Bair, 51, of Barnegat, and James Laborante, 33, of Toms River, tried to hide the drugs, while Michael Laborante, 30, of Toms River, got out of the vehicle and tried to run away, Kelly said.

Detectives uncovered heroin, a crack pipe and several other paraphernalia. In addition to the drug offenses, Bair and Michael Laborante had outstanding warrants for their arrest.

Bair was charged with possession of heroin, crack, paraphernalia, contempt of court, and several motor vehicle violations, including driving while suspended and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Bair was taken to the Ocean County Jail but has since been released to await further court action.

Michael Laborante was charged with possession of heroin, crack, paraphernalia, contempt of court, obstruction of justice, and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail but has since been released to await further court action.

On Nov. 19, after numerous complaints, arrests and charges associated with 4 Hollycrest Drive, the landlord, Vincent Loffredo, 86, of Brick, was charged with violating the Brick Township ordinance against Irresponsible Rentals. That ordinance aims to hold landlords responsible for repeated violations and complaints about a particular residence.
