4 Hurt In Crash When Car Runs Red Light On Route 70 In Brick: Police
The crash closed the intersection for about two hours early Friday morning, police said.

BRICK, NJ -- Four people were injured early Friday morning in a crash at Route 70 and Chambersbridge Road, Brick police said.
Israel Shaliehsaboo, 19, of Lakewood, and his passengers, Samuel Peres, 20, and Yehud Morgenstern, 20, both of Lakewood, were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, for treatment, Sgt. Neal Pedersen said. Shaliehsaboo and Peres had minor injuries, while Morgenstern had internal injuries, he said. The driver of the other car, Brianna Hollingsworth, 20, of Manchester, was taken to Ocean Medical Center, Brick for treatment of minor injuries, he said.
The crash, which happened about 1 a.m., occurred when Hollingsworth, who was northbound on Chambersbridge Road in a silver Dodge Durango, ran a red light at the intersection and hit the black 2014 Nissan Altima driven by Shaliehsaboo, who was westbound on Route 70, Pedersen said.

Shaliehsaboo had a green light, Pedersen said.
The force of the impact caused the Altima to roll several times before it came to a rest in the grass near the northwest corner of the intersection, Pedersen said. The Durango came to a rest at the northwest corner of the intersection, he said.

Brick Township Police Department patrol units responded to the scene, along with the Brick Township Police Department’s Emergency Medical Services, Toms River First Aid and MONOC Paramedics. Brick Township Station 21 and 22 Fire Companies also responded to the scene, Pedersen said.
Patrolmen Jay Lampiasi and Patrolman Keith Donnelly conducted the accident investigation, assisted by Detective Anthony Paciulli of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office's Vehicular Homicide Unit. Detective Craig Lash of the Brick Township Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit, responded to photograph and process the scene.
Vehicular traffic was diverted around the scene for approximately two hours during the investigation.
