6 Arrested In Brick Street Crimes Unit Investigations

CK, NJ — The Brick Township Police Department's Street Crimes Unit arrested six people on charges from drug possession to obstruction in recent days, police announced.

On Jan. 10, detectives pulled over a vehicle on Hooper Avenue near Gloria Ann Smith Drive. The driver told police she was in possession of heroin, and pulled about 10 wax folds wrapped in a rubber band out from the front of her pants. The driver, Kimberly Sweet, 49, from Brick, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance inside a motor vehicle. She was released on a summons.

On Jan. 21, detectives saw a vehicle on Route 88 and Chambers Bridge Road make several motor vehicle violations and pulled it over. The detectives saw two people in the vehicle leaned over inspecting a plastic baggie in the center console, then saw the driver stuff the baggie down his pants.

The driver, Keith Morse, 33, of Brick, was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of oxycodone, intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended and possession of a controlled dangerous substance inside a motor vehicle. The passenger, Tyler Breece, 24, of Brick, was charged with loitering to obtain a controlled dangerous substance. Morse and Breece were taken to the Ocean County Jail; Breece was released but Morse remained in jail as of Feb. 2.

On Jan. 24, detectives saw a vehicle speeding on Drum Point Road and Brick Boulevard and failing to maintain its lane of travel and pulled it over at Burger King at 538 Brick Blvd. During the stop, detectives saw heroin in plain view. A search turned up heroin, hypodermic syringes, clonazepam, prescription legend pills, and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Marlena Martinez, 42, of Lakewood, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic syringes, possession of clonazepam, possession of a prescription legend drug without a prescription, careless driving and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

The passenger, Manny Martinez, 40, of Lakewood, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe. Both were processed and released on summons.
