6 Arrested Buying Alcohol Underage In Brick

Police operated a Cops in Shops detail looking for those trying to buy alcohol underage.

BRICK, NJ — Six people were arrested recently as a result of a Cops in Shops detail targeting underage possession of alcohol in the township.

Four adults and two juveniles were arrested in two separate incidents, Brick Township police said.

In one incident, a 20-year old man and a 63-year old woman were arrested after the woman tried to buy alcohol for the man, police said.

In the second incident, two 19-year old women and two juveniles were arrested and charged with underage possession of alcoholic beverages after they attempted to purchase alcohol. One of the 19-year olds presented a fake ID at the time of the attempted purchase, police said.

None of the names of those arrested were released.

"We want you to have a great summer and have lots of fun, but we also encourage everyone to be safe and follow the rules," police said in a Facebook post.
