6 Candidates Seeking 2 Brick School Board Seats

Incumbent Karyn Cusanelli is not seeking another term on the board, according to the filings.

BRICK, NJ — Six candidates have filed petitions to run for two seats on the Brick Township Board of Education this year, and neither incumbent holding the current seats is among them, according to election filings posted by the Ocean County Clerk's Office.

Neither Karyn Cusanelli, who has served on the board since winning election to fill an unexpired term in 2012, nor George White, who was elected to fill the one-year unexpired term of John Talty, have filed petitions, according to the clerk's office.

Monday at 4 p.m. was the deadline to file petitions to appear on the Nov. 8 ballot.

The six candidates for the two, three-year terms do include a former board member, Walter Campbell, who served for 18 months after Warren Wolf stepped down from the board in June 2011. Campell also ran unsuccessfully for the board last year.

  • Victor Finamore, Queen Ann Road
  • John J. O'Rourke, West Lake Drive
  • Daisy Haffner, Younger Street
  • Melita Gagliardi, Havens Drive
  • Madeline Colagiovanni-Iannarone, Hudson Drive

Both Finamore and Colagiovianni-Iannarone ran unsuccessfully for the board last year as well.
