6 Men, Juvenile Charged In Brick Drug Distribution Probe: Police

The arrests followed an investigation prompted by tips from residents; police said all were charged with marijuana possession.

BRICK, NJ — Seven people were arresed and charged with marijuana posssession following the execution of two search warrants in Brick on Wednesday night, police said Friday.

The search warrants, executed about 8:30 p.m., were the result of a lengthy investigation the police department's Drug Enforcement Unit into narcotics distribution promped by several calls to police by township residents, Brick police said.

The Brick Township Special Emergency Response Team executed at residences on Sawmill Road and Pennsylvania Avenue, police said. One juvenile, whose name was not released, was arrested, along with the following six adults:

  • Harold J. Wood, 20, of Jackson
  • Marquise B. Harris, 23, of Brick
  • Eric W. Tampuu Jr., 18, of Brick
  • Michael R. Morgan, 20, of Brick
  • Richard J. Burgan, 18, of Brick
  • James J. Jenkins, 20, of Brick

All were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Harris, Tampuu, Burgan and Jenkins all were taken to the Ocean County Jail on warrants, police said, but all but Tampuu had been released as of Friday, according to corrections department online records. Wood and Morgan were released on summonses pending court, police said.
