7 Brick Student-Athletes Sign College Commitment Letters

Football, girls soccer and wrestling all were represented.

BRICK, NJ — Seven Brick Township high school seniors — five from Brick and two from Brick Memorial — signed national letters of intent this week to pursue their academics and sports careers in college.

The Dragons' signees included three members of the girls varsity soccer team and two football players. The Mustangs who signed represented football and wrestling.

Forward Casey Palmer signed with Ohio State University; defender Chloe Sherry committed to Charleston Southern University in South Carolina, and defender Nicole Scardilli signed with Pfeiffer University in North Carolina.

Ja'Sir Taylor, the Dragons' star wide receiver and defensive back, is headed to Wake Forest University, while John Prato, who has played multiple positions for the Dragons, signed with Kutztown University.

Brick Memorial wrestler Giovanni Ghione signed with the Ivy League's University of Pennsyvania, while Justin Szuba, who played offensive and defensive line positions for the Mustangs' football team, will continue his football and academics at Monmouth University.
