9/11 Memorial Ceremony Scheduled For Monday In Brick

The 16th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that killed 8 Brick Township residents and natives will be commemorated.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township will hold its annual commemoration ceremony marking the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on Monday, Sept. 11 at Windward Beach Park.

The memorial service begins at 6 p.m. and honors the eight residents and township natives who died in the attacks at the World Trade Center in New York on Sept. 11, 2001.

They are: John Badagliacca; Brett T. Bailey; Robert P. Devitt Jr.; Michael D. Diehl; Jon A. Perconti; Jim Sands Jr.; Thomas Sgroi; and Christopher M. Traina.

The ceremony is held at the Angel in Anguish statue in the middle of the park and includes bagpipers and candles lit in remembrance.

It is open to the public and township residents are invited to attend and bring American flags to the service.
