Abduction Rumor Not True, Brick Police Say
Reports of a blonde woman screaming from a pickup truck turned out to be unfounded, they say.

Reports on Facebook late Thursday evening of a possible abduction of a young woman in Brick have turned out to be unfounded, Brick Township police said Friday morning.
Two Facebook sites -- Scanner News NJ and Ocean County Emergency Alert System -- were reporting police had issued a countywide alert to look for the truck, after callers reported to Brick Township police that a young blonde had been seen screaming for help from the truck.
The Scanner News NJ post went viral, shared more than 2,000 times as people shared the information in an attempt to help.

But the report of an abduction turned out to be unfounded, Brick Sgt. Josh Jenssen said Friday morning.
Jenssen did not have details, but said investigation by officers determined there was no abduction.

“It was a big deal over something that turned out not to be true,” he said.
