UPDATE: After 6 Weeks of Searching, Missing Teen Found Safe

Kimberly Pedre, the 16-year-old with ties to Brick who left her Howell home Feb. 4, has been located, according to a report.

After six weeks of searching without success, Howell teenager Kimberly Pedre has been found safe, according to social media reports.

The Facebook group Our Howell NJ, which has been in touch with Kimberly’s family during the search for the 16-year-old, reported early Sunday morning that Pedre had been found.

A status update posted by the page’s administrators at 12:27 a.m. Sunday states:

“*GREAT BREAKING NEWS* Kimberly Pedre has been found safe and will be reunited with her family very soon. I have been contacted by her mother, no details can be provided at this time but she wanted us to know and share the great news because many people have been following this story. Thank You to everyone that shared this story and has been praying for Kimberly and the family.”

Pedre went missing Feb. 4 when she left her home near Taunton School in Howell without a cell phone. Family and friends, as well as Howell Township police, actively searched for the girl. She was eventually entered into the National Missing and Exploited Children database as part of the ongoing effort to find her.

Pedre and her family also lived in Brick for a time and attended Veterans Memorial Middle School and Brick Memorial High School, according to family members who contacted the Brick Patch.
