Alert Neighbor's Call Leads To Brick Man's Arrest On Burglary Charges
Brick police say they located the man outside a second home near the first where suspicious activity had been reported.

An alert neighbor’s report of a man behaving suspiciously in the Lions Head South development led to the arrest of Brick Township man, after police allegedly found him with items stolen from a nearby home.
Ronald Reiser, 48, of Lions Head Boulevard South, has been charged with burglary, theft, tampering with evidence, and possession of burglary tools after the incident, Brick Capt. Ronald Dougard Jr. said.
Police were called to Lions Head South on Sunday about 1 p.m. by a resident reporting a man possibly attempting to break into a residence, Dougard said. Upon arrival, Sgt. Art Rivaldo and Officer Robert Scelfo were approached by a resident, who told them he saw a man -- later identified as Reiser -- walking in and around a neighbor’s yard and possibly trying to break in to the residence, he said. The caller also told the officers he saw Reiser enter a second neighbor’s house with the resident, Dougard said.

Rivaldo and Scelfo went to the second home and spoke with Reiser, he said. Their investigation revealed Reiser to be in possession of a Casio brand digital camera that he took from the kitchen table of the residence where he was located, Dougard said. Further investigation at the scene revealed signs of an attempted burglary at the first home where the caller had reported seeing Reiser, Dougard said.
Reiser was arrested at the scene, he said. He is being held at the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $40,000 bail, no 10 percent option, as set by Municipal Court Judge Robert Lepore, Dougard said.
