BRICK, NJ — SummerFest is set to kick off the 2026 summer concert series in Brick Township on Thursday night as scheduled amid the hot weather, but with precautions, officials said.
Windward Beach Park opens for SummerFest at 5 p.m., and there will be a food court and a beer and wine garden for those 21 or older. Outside alcohol is prohibited.
Super Trans Am is scheduled to take the stage about 7 p.m. to perform the greatest arena rock anthems of all time, followed by what the township says will be a spectacular fireworks display over the Metedeconk River, as the township begins the celebration of America's 250th anniversary.
"Wear your patriotic colors and help us celebrate 250 years of American independence with a night of music, fireworks and community fun," township officials said.
Because of the heat, the township will have cooling tents available at the park.
The township is encouraging attendees to take the free shuttle buses to Windward Beach, as parking at the site fills up quickly.
Shuttle buses will begin operating at 5 p.m. from Drum Point Elementary School, Veterans Memorial Middle School, Midstreams Elementary School, Lanes Mill Elementary School and Brick Township High School.
The shuttles will being their return trips to the schools immediately following the fireworks and continue until all guests have been transported back to their pickup locations.
Chairs and coolers are welcome on the shuttle buses. Kids 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
"SummerFest remains free to attend thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, including Title Sponsor Pine Belt Cars," township officials said. "Other sponsors include Hackensack Meridian Health Ocean University Medical Center, Brightview Senior Living, Comcast and other community partners."
