BRICK, NJ — Four people filed candidate petitions for seats on the Brick Township Board of Education, which has two seats up for election in November.
The candidates for the two three-year terms are Alison Kennedy; Nicole Orozco; Stephanie Murano, and Robert Sabo.
Kennedy is the current vice president of the board and is seeking election to her second full term. Kennedy was appointed to the board in September 2022 to fill a vacancy when a former board member moved out of state, then elected to a full term in 2023. She is running under the slogan "Children First, Always".
The second open seat is currently held by board president Mike Mesmer, who is not seeking re-election.
Orozco is running for the school board for the second time. She sought election in 2025 with Fran DiBenedictus, who was re-elected to the board.
Murano is a newcomer and is running with Orozco under the slogan "Champions For Education."
Sabo also is a newcomer and did not have a slogan listed.
