Today's riddle: What is full of holes but still holds water? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Dangers Persist On Road Where Brick Teen Was Hit, Killed, Residents Say (patch.com) — Brick residents are pressing officials for stronger safety measures on Lanes Mill Road after 15-year-old Jackson Mueller was fatally struck while biking to school in a Brick crosswalk. The township council has introduced a speed limit reduction, but neighbors say broken school-zone lights, missing sidewalks, and a lack of crossing guards still leave students at risk as the new school year approaches.
2. Shore high school football summer coverage, player/team rankings, season previews (northjersey.com) — Shore Conference high school football ramps up next week, and both Brick Memorial Mustangs and Brick Township Green Dragons are included in a full slate of previews, rankings, and schedules. Local fans can track scrimmages, Week 0 kickoff dates, rising recruits, and team-by-team breakdowns as the 2026 season approaches.
3. Boaters flock to F-Cove, a summer hot spot in Brick Township (photos) (app.com) — Hundreds of boaters are packing F-Cove off Barnegat Bay in Brick Township, turning the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge shoreline into a floating summer party spot patrolled by Brick police and State Police marine units. Photos from last weekend show everything from rope swings and lemonade stands to a pizza boat cruising through the cove, capturing the scene Brick boaters can expect through late summer.
4. Motorcycling Couple Killed When Brick Driver 'Freaked Out' Over Bug Remembered: Report (dailyvoice.com) — A motorcycling couple from Clearfield County, Pennsylvania is being remembered after they were killed in an Aug. 12 head-on crash, in which state police say the other driver, a 55-year-old woman from Brick swerved while reacting to a bug in her car. The story recounts the victims' lives, their long relationship, and a fundraiser to help cover cremation costs and a future scholarship.
