BRICK, NJ — If you are working on your fall yard cleanup, mark your calendar: Brick Township has announced the dates for its fall leaf collection.
The schedule is based on the town's recycling collection days, and there are two rounds of leaf collections scheduled for each, with the first round beginning Oct. 19.
If your recycling day is Wednesday, your leaves will be collected Oct. 19-23 and Nov. 23-27.
If your recycling day is Thursday, your collections will be Oct. 26-30 and Nov. 30-Dec. 4.
If your recycling day is Friday, your leaves will be picked up Nov. 2-6 and Dec. 7-11.
If your recycling day is Monday, leaf collection will be Nov. 9-13 and Dec. 14-18.
If your recycling day is Tuesday, the town will pick up your leaves Nov. 16-20 and Dec. 21-28.
Residents are asked to have their bagged leaves at the curb by 6 a.m. on the first day of their collection week. Only leaves in bags will be collected, and bags should not contain branches, twigs or debris.
Leaves also can be taken to Brick Township's recycling center at 836 Ridge Road. It is open Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and will be open on Saturday, Oct. 3, Saturday, Nov. 7, and Saturday, Dec. 5, from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
The Ocean County Recycling Center also accepts leaves, along with branches, brush, twigs, and other recyclable materials at the Northern Recycling Center, 601 New Hampshire Ave., Lakewood. The Northern Recycling Center is open Mondays through Saturdays from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and it is free to Ocean County residents.
