The Arc, Ocean County Chapter Receives $10,000 Computer Grant

THE ARC, OCEAN COUNTY CHAPTER RECEIVES $10,000
COMPUTER LITERACY GRANT FROM THE OCEANFIRST FOUNDATION

Supports Career Exploration for Participants at Journeys and Discovery

Brick, NJ (March 22, 2019): The Arc, Ocean County Chapter received a $10,000 grant from the OceanFirst Foundation to upgrade the computer lab at Journeys and Discovery, a vocational program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Brick, NJ.

Journeys and Discovery provide participants an opportunity to explore careers through job sampling. Clients then recognize their greatest strengths for future career goals. The funding for new computers and iPads will provide our participants an opportunity to learn new skills in basic technology and increase their potential for competitive employment with job searching and resume writing.

“Computer literacy and the tools that accompany this knowledge are pertinent for clients to reach their greatest potential,” said Jeremy Apo, Director of Journeys and Discovery.
