Armed Robber Held Up Brick Gas Station: Police

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township police are searching for a man who robbed a gas station at gunpoint on Monday morning and then ran off.

Police were called to Lepore's Service Center, 380 Herbertsville Road, at 10:45 a.m. for a report of a robbery, Brick Sgt. James Kelly said.

The gas station clerk told police the man brandished a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect, described as a black man about 5-foot-8 or 5-foot-9 and wearing all black, ran from the station.

The clerk was not injured.

Patrol units canvassed the area while detectives conducted their investigation with the aid of Ocean County Sheriff’s officers.

The investigation is ongoing. Any information should be forward to Detective Thomas Cooney of the Brick Township Detective Bureau.
