ATV Driver Who Hit Brick Police Officer Found: Brick PD (UPDATE)

The driver of the quad-style ATV and the dirt bike rider who was with him have turned themselves in, police said.

BRICK, NJ — The driver of an all-terrain vehicle who was being sought after a Brick Township police officer was hit Thursday has turned himself in.

The driver and his companion, who was riding a dirt bike, turned themselves in to police headquarters, Brick Sgt. Jim Kelly confirmed Thursday evening.

Police had been seeking the pair since the 1 p.m. incident in the area of 19th Avenue. The officer was hit by the quad-style ATV and the driver took off. Kelly said the officer was not injured.

Kelly did not immediately identify the two, who turned themselves in about 6 p.m.

The initial description from police said the driver of the quad, approximately a 125cc vehicle, was described as being a white male, medium height with a stocky build and wearing a helmet. The quad driver was with a second male who was tall and thin with dark hair tied in a ponytail and riding a two-wheel dirtbike, approximately 60 to 80cc.
