Authorities Probing Man's Death At Jackson Office Building

Police say there does not appear to be a risk to the public; the building was shut down during the investigation Wednesday night.

JACKSON, NJ — Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery Wednesday evening of a man who was found dead in a Jackson office building.

Police were called to the County Line Business Center, 2290 West County Line Road, about 5:30 p.m. for a report of a man who was found not breathing, Jackson Capt. Steven Laskiewicz said Thursday.

The man, identified only as being 58 years old, was found in an office on the lower level of the building. There were no further details provided about the circumstances of how the man was found or a possible cause of death.

"At this time there does not appear to be any danger to the public in relation to this incident," Laskiewicz said.

The building was secured for the investigation, he said; The Lakewood Scoop reported some of the building's occupants were forced to remain in their offices for a time during the investigation.

Detectives from the Jackson Police Department, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ocean County Sheriff’s CIU responded to the scene, and Laskiewicz said further information in the case will come from the prosecutor's office.
