Back to School: Brick Township 2022-23 School Calendar

BRICK, NJ — Families are getting started on their back-to-school planning, and here are important dates for the school year for students in the Brick Township School District.

The first day of school for students in Brick is Tuesday. Sept. 6.

Before the first day, however, there are orientation events.

On Aug. 24, it's Locker Night for sixth graders at Lake Riviera and Veterans Memorial middle schools. It begins at 6 p.m.

Aug. 25 is freshman orientation at Brick and Brick Memorial high schools. Student orientation begins at 9 a.m.; orientation for parents and guardians is at 6 p.m.

Kindergarten orientation in the elementary schools is set for 6 p.m. on Sept. 1.

Orientation for preschool families is set for Sept. 2 at Herbertsville and Warren H. Wolf schools. Session 1 students are at 9:30 a.m. and Session 2 students are at 11 a.m.

Back-to-school nights are scheduled beginning Sept. 13, with Midstreams Elementary School. The full schedule is online.

Sept. 26: School closed, Rosh Hashanah

Oct. 5: School closed, Yom Kippur

Oct. 10: School closed, Columbus Day; professional development day for staff

Nov. 7-11: School closed, fall break (Election Day, Teacher Convention)

Nov. 16-18: Parent-teacher conferences

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 24-25 (Early dismissal Nov. 23)

Winter Break: Dec. 24-Jan. 2 (Early dismissal Dec. 23)

Jan. 16: School closed, Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Jan. 25-27: Early dismissal for high school students only

Feb. 20: School closed, Presidents' Day

March 15: Early dismissal for students (half-day professional development for staff)

Spring Break: April 7-14

May 29: School closed, Memorial Day

June 13-14: Early dismissal for high school students only

June 15-16: Early dismissal, districtwide

June 19: School closed, Juneteenth

Last Day: June 20 (tentative)

The Brick Township Schools calendar does not have any emergency closure days built in. If there are closures due to winter storms, the calendar will be amended.
