Barnegat Man ID'd In Fatal Parkway Crash In Brick: Report
His obituary says the man had lived in Barnegat for the last year and is believed to have suffered a medical emergency.

A Barnegat Township man has been identified as the man killed in a single-car accident on the Garden State Parkway in Brick last week, according to a report.
NJ.com reported that Robert G. Craven, 77, was killed when his Cadillac left the road in the northbound lanes of the Parkway shortly before noon on Thursday, Oct. 8, quoting Sgt. Gregory Williams, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police.
Police suspect Craven may have suffered a medical emergency before his car veered across the lanes at mile marker 93.6 and rear-ended a Lexus, the report said. After the Cadillac hit the Lexus, Craven’s car went off the road and struck some trees, authorities said at the time.

The accident remains under investigation, according to the report.
Craven’s obituary in the Asbury Park Press said he was a U.S. Air Force veteran who loved to fish and had lived in Barnegat for the last year. He has six children, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, according to the obituary.
