Seussical the Musical OPENING NIGHT at Lakewood’s Historic Strand Center for the Arts
BRICK – BCCT is set to delight audiences with a magical, musical extravaganza starring Dr. Seuss characters from nearly 20 of his books at the Historic Strand Theater in downtown Lakewood. The show opens tonight and runs July 27, 28 and 29 with performances at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and two matinee shows at 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Cat in the Hat your host and Horton the Elephant is your guide for this journey from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the World of the Whos, as a little boy with a big imagination proves that a person is a person, no matter how small. This Broadway hit is about the power of friendship and loyalty.
See the story of Seussical unfold, under the Direction of Heather Campagno, with a cast of interesting characters artfully depicted by talented BCCT actors. The cast features AnnieRose DiMurro as The Cat in the Hat, Christopher Baker as Jojo, Jackson Mizell as Horton the Elephant, Hope Trenkler as Gertrude McFuzz, Sydney Burton as Mayzie La Bird, and Hannah Repole as Sour Kangaroo, Liam Mailley as General Genghis Kahn Schmitz and William Einbinder and Maddie Anders as Mr. and Mrs. Mayor.
Ticket prices are $18 for adults; $16 for students and seniors; and $14 for children 12 and under plus a $1.50 service fee per ticket. Per the Strand's ticket policy, all attendees need a ticket regardless of age. No strollers or carriages will be allowed inside the theater. The show is not recommended for children under the age of three as the run time is just under three hours with intermission.
