Beach And Surf Report: August 16, 2015
Sunny skies, low risk of rip currents forecast.

Another perfect beach day is on the way.
The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies with temperatures in the mid-80s. Beach winds will be from the southwest at five miles per hour, increasing to around 10 miles per hour.
Waves will be around two to three feet, with east swells around two feet. The surf temperature will be 75 degrees.

The NWS is calling for a low risk of rip currents, but strong currents can still occur near piers, jetties and other areas, especially during the low tide cycle. Swim only in guarded areas and talk to lifeguards about any hazards in the surf zone.
The UVI index is an 8, which the NWS considers very high. There is no lightning risk today.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet was at 9:35 a.m. Low tide will occur at 3:43 p.m.
