Beach And Surf Report: August 19, 2015

Partly sunny skies, moderate risk of rip currents.

The National Weather Service is calling for partially sunny skies with temperatures in the mid-80s today.

Beach winds will be from the southeast at five to 10 miles per hour. Waves will be around two feet, with east swells of two feet. The surf temperature today is in the lower to mid-70s.

There is a moderate risk of rip currents today, which means wind and wave conditions support stronger or more frequent rip currents. The NWS advises only swimming in guarded areas and having a flotation device with you.

The UVI index is an 8, which the weather service considers very high.

There is no lightning threat today.
