Beach And Surf Report: August 21, 2015
Cloudy skies, chance of showers on tap for today.

The sun won’t be making an appearance today, but you can still squeeze in another beach day before the weekend crowds arrive.
The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers. Highs will be in the lower 80s.
Beach winds will be light and variable. Waves will be around three feet, with east swells of around two feet. The surf temperature is 75 degrees.

The rip current risk for today is low, but strong currents can occur near piers, jetties and other areas. Swim only in areas where guards are present and discuss any surf zone hazards with them.
Despite the cloud cover, the UVI index is an 8, which the NWS considers very high. The lightning risk is moderate, which means that thunderstorms are possible.
Low tide at Barnegat Inlet was at 6:40 a.m. High tide will occur at 12:56 pm.
