Beach And Surf Report: August 24, 2015
Mostly sunny skies, low risk of rip currents forecast for today.

Summer is on the wane. Get your beach days in while you can.
The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-80s. Beach winds will be from the north at five miles per hour before switching over to the southeast in the afternoon.
Waves will be around three feet, with east swells of three feet. The surf temperature is 75 degrees.

There’s a low risk of rip currents, but strong currents can still occur near piers, jetties and other locations. Swim only in guarded areas and discuss any surf hazards with lifeguards.
The UVI index for today is an 8, which the NWS considers very high. There is no lightning threat.
Low tide at Barnegat Inlet was at 9:21 a.m. High tide will occur at 3:37 p.m.
