Chance of showers and thunderstorms, moderate risk of rip currents, high lightning risk.

The National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies today with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
The heat continues with temperatures in the upper 80s and beach winds from the southwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour.
Waves will be about three feet, with an east swell of around two feet. The water temperature is 77 degrees.

There’s a moderate risk of rip currents, which means wind or wave conditions support stronger or more frequent rip currents. Swim only in guarded areas and always have a flotation device with you.
The NWS says the lightning risk is high, which means thunderstorms are likely or expected.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet will be at 1:35 p.m. High tide will be at 7:41 p.m.
