Beach And Surf Report: July 7, 2015

Low rip current risk, but some areas are still vulnerable.

Although the National Weather Service is again predicting a low rip current risk for today, bathers are urged to stay in areas with lifeguards, since some strong currents are still possible.

”Strong currents can occur near piers and jetties, the NWS said. “Rip currents are possible elsewhere, especially during the lower portion of the tide cycle. Swim in areas where lifeguards are present and talk with them about any hazards in the surf zone.”

Beach winds will be from the south at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Waves will be around three feet. The ocean temperature will be around 70 degrees.
