Risks of rip currents low today, but still possible.

The National Weather Service is again predicting a low rip current risk for today, but forecasters warn that rips are still possible.

“However, strong currents can occur near piers and jetties,” the NWS says. “Rip currents are possible elsewhere, especially during the lower portion of the tide cycle. Swim in areas where lifeguards are present and talk with them about any hazards in the surf zone.”

Waves will be about three feet and the water temperature is 70 degrees.
