Beach And Surf Report: September 6, 2015

Sunny skies, moderate rip current risk forecast for today.

The National Weather Service is calling for near-perfect beach weather today, halfway through the Labor Day weekend.

The skies will be sunny, with a high temperature in the lower 80s. Grab that sunshine while you can. Fall is just weeks away.

Beach winds will be from the east, with winds between five to 10 miles per hour. Waves will be around three feet, with east swells around three feet. The surf temperature is 74 degrees.

There’s a moderate risk of rip currents, which means wind or wave conditions support stronger or more frequent rip currents. Swim only in guarded areas and always have a flotation device with you.

The UVI index is a 7, which the NWS considers high.
