BOE Candidates to Debate Monday Night

Brick Patch to provide live webcast

Candidates for the Brick Township Board of Education will debate Monday night.

Brick Patch will provide a live webcast of the proceedings, as well as a wrap-up story the morning after.

All 11 candidates vying for four available seats on the board were invited to participate, said Rosanna Weldon, President of the Brick Memorial High School PTSA, which helped organize the event along with the Veterans Memorial Middle School PTSA.

Candidates will provide opening statements, the order of which will be chosen by lottery, and the reverse order will be used for closing statements. Brick residents will be able to ask questions of the candidates in between.

Gail Saxer of the Ocean County League of Women Voters will serve as moderator.

The forum will be held Monday, Oct. 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Middle School auditorium.
