Car Hits Pole Near N.J. Mall, Kills 1
There are heavy traffic delays in the area; the driver appears to have suffered a medical episode, according to a report.
FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ -- (Updated, 4 p.m.) The driver of a car who died when the car hit a utility pole on Route 9 in Freehold Township appeared to have suffered a medical episode before the crash, according to a report.
The Asbury Park Press report says the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
PREVIOUSLY: One person has been killed in a crash of a car into a utility pole south of Freehold Raceway Mall, according to a report.

The Monmouth County Police Fire & EMS Facebook page is reporting the crash that happened about 12:30 p.m.
The car reportedly hit a pole at the intersection of Routes 9 and 524, also known as Elton-Adelphia Road. That intersection is south of Raceway Mall.
