Breton Woods Homes Application Hearing On Tap In Brick: Monday Manual
In addition to the Planning Board hearing, the zoning board has 2 applications that have had controversy in the past.

BRICK, NJ — Welcome to the May 16 edition of Monday Manual, where we highlight events coming up during the week in Brick.
The Brick Township Planning Board is scheduled to continue the hearing on the D.R. Horton application to build nearly 60 homes on a 30-acre parcel in the Breton Woods section of Brick.
The application is opposed by neighbors of the parcel that sits between Mantoloking and Drum Point roads off Laurel Avenue.

Route 70 Wawa, Adamston properties before zoning board
On Wednesday, the Brick Township Board of Adjustment is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at the municipal building, and there are two applications on the agenda of interest to residents.
The owner of 385 Adamston Road LLC — the property that was the subject of a controversial 2019 proposal for a medical marijuana dispensary — is seeking a use variance for a commercial use. The property, which is in the RR1 zone — rural residential — had operated as a bank for decades, and the owner is seeking a D1 variance for commercial B2 zoning approval on that basis.
The proposal is to use the existing bank building as a medical office or commercial office use. Permitted uses in a B2 zone include retail sale of goods, personal service establishments, professional offices, and trade shops such as plumbers or electricians.
In addition, the zoning board meeting is scheduled to include testimony on an application by Brick 70 Developers to revise the site plan for the Wawa at the corner of Route 70 and Duquesne Boulevard. That application is asking the zoning board to reconsider its rejection of access to the site onto North Lake Shore Drive. The zoning board initially rejected the Wawa proposal in early 2017, but later approved a revised plan without the North Lake Shore Drive access.
