Brick residents who oppose the development have raised concerns about the impact on the environment and wildlife on the parcel, which is owned by Visitation Roman Catholic Church but has a contract to sell the parcel to D.R. Horton.

The group, Save Breton Woods, has been fighting the development, and Save Barnegat Bay has hired an attorney to assist in the fight.
