Brick Alters Recycling, Trash Schedules, Offers High-Ground Parking
Blizzard conditions and the possibility of severe flooding have officials urging residents to prepare and stay connected.

BRICK, NJ -- Brick Township officials are telling residents to get vehicles off the streets, as well as changing trash collection and canceling events in advance of the weekend nor’easter, now that the township, along with much of New Jersey, is under a blizzard watch.
“While the track of the storm is still uncertain, we are preparing for the worst. Snowfall, wind and flooding are all expected,” the township said in a news release Thursday afternoon.
It addressed the following items:
- Residents are respectfully asked to remove all cars and portable objects (i.e., basketball hoops) from the street prior to the storm to assist with our snow removal efforts and to ensure emergency response personnel have access.
- Residents in low lying areas may relocate their cars for the duration of the storm to the Drum Point Sports Complex, Hibbard Youth Baseball Complex (56 Tiller Lane) and Boland Youth Baseball Complex (2000 Lanes Mill Road). Please note, these areas will be cleared once all streets are cleared. You will also need to be prepared to clear snow from around your vehicle after the storm.
- Residents are reminded to assist by removing snow from fire hydrants and storm drains during winter weather.
- Public Works Collections have been cancelled for Saturday. Collections scheduled for Saturday will be done on Monday. All collections will be delayed one day next week. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
- The Public Works Recycling Center on Ridge Road will not be open on Saturday.
- The annual Rabies Clinic scheduled for Saturday, January 24 has been postponed until Saturday, January 31. There will be a two-week grace period granted for license renewals.
- All Recreation Department activities scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, including Challenger Bowling, the Lil’ Hoopsters and Bitty Basketball Clinics and all Recreation Basketball Games and Practices have been cancelled.
The Township and the Brick Township Police Department will provide updates throughout the storm and recovery efforts on the Township Website (www.bricktownship.net), Facebook, Twitter and BTV. Nixle alerts will also be issued. If you have not signed up to receive Nixle alerts via text, email and phone, please do by texting your zipcode to 888777 or by visiting www.nixle.com.
