BRICK, NJ — As summer winds down and college students return to school, having enough lifeguards to cover the beach becomes a challenge.

In Brick, it means Brick Beaches 1 and 3 will continue to have lifeguards, but Brick Beach 2 will not, township officials said. Friday, Aug. 16, will be the last day the Brick Beack 2 will have lifeguards.

Dan Santaniello, Brick Township's recreation director, said the staffing change at Brick Beach 2 happens every year in mid-August.
