Boy, 5, Helps Raise Money For Louisiana Flood Victims
Brick police praised the boy for his effort to help.

BRICK, NJ — We all think that we, by ourselves, can't do much in the face of a major disaster. But a A 5-year-old Brick Township boy is reminding us that every effort matters.
According to a Facebook post by the Brick Township Police Department, 5-year-old Luke was inspired to help the victims of the flooding in Louisiana, which occurred when as much as two feet of rain fell in the span of three days earlier this month. Thousands of people were forced from their homes and 30 parishes — the Louisiana equivalent of counties — have been declared disaster areas in the wake of the historic flooding.
"Luke’s mom explained that Luke wanted to be just like the brave men and women that are helping the victims of the Louisiana flooding," the post said. "His idea was to raise money by selling his lemonade. Officer (Robert) Koch was one of his first customers to enjoy his delicious lemonade," the post said.
