Brick, Brick Memorial Live Graduations Set For Wednesday
Expect extra traffic in Brick on Wednesday afternoon near both high schools as in-person graduation ceremonies are set.
BRICK, NJ — The football fields at Brick Memorial and Brick Township high schools will be filled with joy and pomp and circumstance on Wednesday, as the district holds its in-person graduations at last.
The live ceremonies were postponed after Gov. Phil Murphy ordered schools to turn to remote learning and shut down public gatherings because of the coronavirus pandemic. But as the infection rate slowed, Murphy announced that the size of gatherings could increase, making live graduation ceremonies possible.
Brick Superintendent Thomas Farrell had said in May that the district was holding onto the hopes of having the live celebrations, and had plans for that possibility.

There will be two ceremonies at each high school — at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. — with student body divided in half alphabetically, because of the 500-person limit on public gatherings. Tickets were distributed, and guests of the students will have to go through a temperature check before being permitted to go to the football fields.
Everyone must wear masks during the entire ceremony, Brick schools officials said, and students and parents will be asked to leave the school grounds immediately after the ceremony.
The ceremonies will be livestreamed, and there is a raindate on Thursday if weather is threatening. You can watch the Brick Memorial graduation livestreams and the Brick Township graduation livestreams on YouTube. The links are found on the district's website here.
