BRICK, NJ — Brick Township officials have canceled Saturday's farmers market at Windward Beach Park due to the threat of thunderstorms.

"We regret to announce that due to expected inclement weather on Saturday, August 29 Brick Farmers Market will not be held. We thank you for your understanding," officials said on the farmers' market Facebook page.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch on Friday for Ocean County and said thunderstorms are possible throughout the weekend as the remnants of Hurricane Laura clear out. The storm threat is expected to remain through Sunday morning.
