Editor’s note: Mr. White submitted answers intended for a different publication. Some of those answers are printed here.

There are many outstanding teachers in the Brick School system; current hires must represent the best and brightest available. Teachers and administrators must be provided with the latest available materials methods and environment to improve the educational abilities of all the students. Emphasis needs to be place on academics and vocational training. Teachers and students need to be fairly evaluated and assistance provided wherever necessary. Independent, regular audits should be mandated and measures taken to improve the efficiency of expenditures. Where necessary, a grant writer should be given incentive to procure gifts, both financial and material.

It is well-known by Brick teachers, students and building administrators what needs to be done as it relates to capital improvement. The Board of Education has a fiduciary responsibility to provide the best learning environment fiscally possible according to the adopted budget. The Buildings and Ground committee of the board is responsible to the baord as a whole and the superintendent as chief administrator to implement, with the approval of the community, such capital projects that enhance the education of all students. We are all aware that many capital improvements have been delayed too long and now we are in dire need for huge outlays of capital. Now with interest rates being low, let’s have a referendum to invest in our children’s future and give them the outstanding education they deserve and our teacher are willing to provide givne the tools and incentive.
