Brick Council Holding Final 2018 Meeting On Dec. 28
The unusual meeting date and time were announced earlier in December; the mayor is seeking resident volunteers for township boards.

BRICK, NJ — The Brick Township Council will hold its final 2018 meeting on at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, at the township municipal complex.
The unusual meeting date and time drew grumbles at the Dec. 18 council meeting, where it was announced in addtion to being advertised. The agenda includes final budget transfers and contract approvals for employee health benefits.
The council will meet again in early 2019 for its annual reorganization meeting.

Mayor John G. Ducey is seeking residents who want to serve on the town's various board or committees. Send an email with a resume and cover letter to Ducey at mayor@twp.brick.nj.us by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3.

- Environmental Commission: Responsible for the protection, development and use of natural resources, including water resources located within the township.
- Historic Preservation Commission: Works to encourage the use, restoration and preservation of historic structures in Brick Township.
- Board of Adjustment: Review and decide on applications for a variance.
- Property Maintenance Board: works to determine the course of action owners of properties deemed in violation of the Property Maintenance Code must take in regards to the rehabilitation of their properties.
- Brick Municipal Anti-Drug Coalition (BMAC): Mission is to provide substance abuse prevention programs and services for the community.
