Brick Council Meetings Set For Dec. 31, Jan. 1
The Township Council has back-to-back meetings scheduled to close out 2019 and kick off 2020.

BRICK, NJ — The Brick Township Council has a pair of meetings scheduled for this week, to close out business for 2019 and to start off 2020.
On Tuesday, the council is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. to finalize business for 2019. On the agenda for the meeting is the reappointment of Maureen Laffey-Berg as the township's chief financial officer.
Laffey-Berg, who was appointed to the position in October 2016, will earn tenure with the reappointment, according to the resolution that will be before the council. She was hired by the township initially in 2008 and worked as the assistant to former CFO Scott Pezarras.

On Wednesday, the council is scheduled to meet at 2 p.m. for its reorganization meeting, where Andrea Zapcic, Arthur Halloran and Lisa Crate will be sworn in to new terms, and Vincent Minichino will be sworn in as a newcomer.
Zapcic was the top vote-getter in the Nov. 5 election, receiving 8,546 votes. Crate received 8,203, Halloran, 8,154, and Minichino received 8,015, according to official tallies published by the Ocean County Clerk's office.

In addition to the swearing in ceremonies, there will be appointments of various professionals and temporary budget appropriations.
