Brick Crossing Guards Honored For Keeping Kids Safe
The Township Council and mayor thanked the guards in honor of Crossing Guard Appreciation Day.
Parents see them at busy intersections, keeping an eye on motorists while working to ensure students get to their destination safely.
In the summer, Brick Township’s crossing guards help families cross Route 35 on their way to and from a day at the beach.
“The Brick Township Police Department and the Brick Township School System rely on our municipal crossing guards to maintain order on our roadways,” Mayor John Ducey said in a proclamation Tuesday night at the Township Council meeting declaring Thursday, Oct. 8, as Crossing Guard Appreciation Day. “Hundreds of children are kept safe and provided guidance thanks to school crossing guards.”

Council President Paul Mummolo echoed the remarks on behalf of the council, thanking the crossing guards for their service to the town.
“Our children’s lives are in the hands of crossing guards every day. We thank you.”
