Brick Driver Cited For Cell Phone Use After Brick Boulevard Crash

The accident brought down wires in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

A Brick Township driver received a summons for using a cell phone while driving after his Jeep left the road and struck a utility pole on Tuesday, police said.

Kyle Reinstadtler suffered minor injuries in the crash, which happened about 8:15 p.m., Brick Sgt. Neal Pedersen said Wednesday afternoon.

Reinstadtler was southbound on Brick Boulevard when his 2004 Jeep left the road and hit the pole, bringing down wires into the parking lot of the apartment complex across from Drum Point Road.

JCP&L and Verizon responded to the scene to assess the damage to the pole. The vehicle sustained significant front end damage and was towed from the scene.

Officer Jay Nye is the investigating officer. Reinstadtler, who refused medical attention, was issued a summons for failure to maintain lane in addition to the cell phone usage, Pedersen said.
