Brick Election Results 2017: Ducey Team Re-elected; Barton Out

Democrat John Ducey received more than double the votes of Republican Roseanne Scaturro. John Barton was ousted from the school board.

BRICK, NJ — (Updated, 9:15 p.m.) The Ducey Team is returning for four more years.

Democratic Mayor John G. Ducey received more than double the votes of Republican challenger Roseanne Scaturro in the mayoral race, winning 14,349 to 6,751, according to the preliminary results.

Council incumbents Marianna Pontoriero, Paul Mummolo and Heather deJong also were returned to office, beating their Republican challengers Marilyn Lago, John Ciocco and Lois Turner by roughly 3,000 votes apiece.

In the Board of Education race, incumbent John Barton was ousted, with Jessica Clayton (8,483) and Maria E. Foster (8,302) out polling him by 2,000 votes. Barton received 5,955, according to the unofficial tallies.
