Brick EMTs Honored At Statewide EMS Event
The Brick Township Police EMS division and some of its EMTs were nominated for statewide awards.
BRICK, NJ — The Brick Township Police Department's emergency medical services division and several of its emergency medical technicians were honored recently for their work serving the township.
The awards program, through the Office of Emergency Medical Services and the New Jersey EMS Council, aims "to recognize individuals for their hard work and dedication to the provision of emergency medical services in New Jersey."

The EMS division as a whole was nominated for the Community Service Award, in recognition of work serving the community that isn't specific to treating patients.
EMT Stacy Speidel was nominated for EMT of the Year.

EMTs Joe Sharkey and Brian Schwarz were nominated for Outstanding Call by a Team, for their efforts that saved the life of a man who was having a heart attack. Read more: Brick EMTs, Officer Save Man From Near-Fatal Heart Attack
Part-time EMT Armando Tamargo won third place in the state EMS Simulation Competition with the JFK BLS team.
"Congratulations to our outstanding EMS Division. Great job representing this department and our community with dedication and professionalism. We are proud to work alongside of you all as first responders serving this great town," Brick police said in a Facebook post.
