Brick Is Going to the Dogs ... And the Kites This Weekend
Catch the ocean breeze Saturday during KiteFest, and on Sunday bring your best four-legged friend out to the beach

It’s a weekend Charlie Brown would love.
First, the skies over Trader’s Cove will be filled with kites during the township’s annual KiteFest. Bring your own and build it, or a limited number of free kites will be available for partcipants.
The free event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The weather looks good, too, with breezes of 9 to 10 mph. For more details, call 732-262-1076. This event originally was scheduled for Brick Beach 1 but was moved to Trader’s Cove because of the ongoing construction on Route 35.

(The best part: There should be no kite-eating trees to spoil the fun.)
On Sunday, the Rotary Club is hosting Dog Fest at Windward Beach. The Township Council has suspended the ordinance prohibiting dogs in the park for the day, so residents can truly celebrate their furry friends.

There will be demonstrations, contests, prizes, vendors and food and fun for humans and canines alike.
Dog Fest runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; there is a $5 admission fee; children under 12 get in free.
(Can you see Charlie and Snoopy dancing with delight?)
