Brick Gynecologist Accused Of Inappropriately Touching Female Patient: Prosecutor

Breaking: The doctor, who lives in Toms River, was arrested Tuesday, the prosecutor's office said.

BRICK, NJ — A Brick Township gynecologist has been charged with harassment after a female patient said he touched her inappropriately following a medical exam, according to police and the prosecutor's office.

The arrest of Dr. Alfred B. Parchment, 53, of Toms River was jointly announced by Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and Brick Township Police Chief James Riccio.

Parchment was arrested Tuesday following an investigation by Detective Alex Bromley of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office's Special Victims Unit and Brick Township Detective Dan Waleski, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor's office.

Parchment is accused of touching the female patient after her exam at Brick Women’s Physicians, Obstetrics and Gynecology at 1140 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, Della Fave said. The New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners was notified of the charge, he said.

The charge of harassment (offensive touching) is a disorderly persons offense, Della Fave said. Parchment was released with a summons pending a court date.
